Hiving new bees
On April 6 Team Bee welcomed our new hives, Fauna and Merryweather to Sunset (Thanks to Lori Eninger Sloss for answering our plea on our Facebook page for new hive names.)
The bees are Italians from Olivarez Honey Bees, purchased through the Beekeepers Guild of San Mateo County. We’ve been feeding them sugar water, since the weather has been lousy for foraging. It looks like they’re building up pretty well. As soon as we get some good weather, we’ll open up the hives and see how they’re doing.

No, we’re going to try it one more time. It’s a lot harder to work than the Langs, but harvesting the honey is easier.
Have you given up on TBH hives?
