Lawn painting businesses are booming as a result of California’s current drought. I came across this oddly hypnotizing video about Josh Cox, a Fresno-based lawn painter.

Have any of you out there painted your lawns? Let us know.

And for anyone else, here’s how to lose the lawn, what to plant in its place, or even how keep your lawn but still save water.

can you please share the name of the paint?

We live in south Riverside County in California with severe outdoor water use restrictions. We moved into the neighborhood about 3 months ago with a generally dead lawn. We tried to nurse it back to health with minimal water but all we got were weeds. A local lawn painter gave me an estimate of $120 for about 950 square feet of lawn area. We said yes immediately and we now have the greenest lawn in the neighborhood! From a distance it looks like fresh sod, and we’ve had many comments from the neighbors. We were told it should last 3 months. If it does, we’ll do it again.

We are in Washington state and painted our back lawn due to a dry, dry summer that’s still going. It’s a great hack to enjoy a green yard for all our family, without effecting our pets, the environment or having to water. Winning all around in “today’s” weather conditions.
The only problem was the product was hard to find at first but, once we did…loved it!

So very sad that the public falls for this type of quick fix without thinking for the environmental effect. +

The product we found was environmentally/earth friendly and safe for my kiddo and pets. It’s availabe. And, in the post video, he uses that too. It was at the top of my prority list,
