National Bookstore Day!

Last May saw the inaugural California Bookstore Day. This year, on May 2, the celebration of the indie bookstore goes national with Independent Bookstore Day —and such institutions as Book Soup (L.A.), the Tattered Cover (Denver), and The King’s English Bookshop (Salt Lake City) are hosting readings, throwing parties, and selling books and gifts made especially for (and only for) that day. Items from West Coast lit stars are front and center: Oregon blogger Allie Brosh signed a poster for her cult hit, Hyperbole and a Half, and San Francisco’s 3 Fish Studios created a Literary Map of the Seas (above) which comes complete with the Island of the Blue Dolphins. So, next year … the world?

I have had tremendous trouble finding a place to order more than one episcopal hymnal.
