The Portland Backpack Made For Everyone

Another day, another handcrafted bag. But when they’re hand sewn by a former sailmaker and tentmaker in Portland—from locally sourced canvas, no less—we pay attention.

Artist Timothy Adam Maynard applies his understanding of constructing durable objects from funky fabrics (like nylon and canvas) to the roll-top backpacks he designs, cuts, and sews by hand in his home studio. He calls them the Tim Adam Bags for Everyone; we call them the cream of Portland’s local design crop—and want one in every color.
