Hi, everyone. For about a year now, we’ve been putting together a book about this one-block project of ours, and in just a few weeks—March 22, to be exact—it’ll be on sale in bookstores and online!
Although longtime readers of this blog will find some familiar moments in the book, most of what we’re giving you is brand new. It’s really four books in one:
• The story of how this project evolved, and the honest truth about what worked and what didn’t
• An overall guide to organic edible gardening (composting, planting, and seed-starting), plus specific instructions for each crop we grew—and really pretty illustrated planting plans
• A food-project guidebook with how-tos for everything we did—from brewing beer and fermenting wine to pressing olive oil, making salt, cheese, and vinegar, and raising chickens, honeybees, and a cow. We included materials used, prices, and sources
• A cookbook of 100+ recipes, using only what we made or raised
