I feel terribly out of the loop, but my friend from Three Bees Nursery just told me about the effort between 350.org and Hayes Valley Farm to create 350 new kitchen gardens in San Francisco on 10/10/10 (this Sunday).

350 new kitchen gardens! Can you imagine? Anything from an entire backyard to a windowsill of herbs counts in this effort to increase local food production. That’s a whole lot of people growing food.

I love it! 350.org also has hundreds of other events scheduled for 10/10/10 all related to proactive solutions to climate change. See the schedule to find an event in your area.

10/10/10 is my birthday, and I’m planning to follow this month’s Northern California day trip to Ukiah. Otherwise I’d be there with bells on!
